My first novel was Curve Ball, about Tom Perry, life in the Midwest, and baseball in the 1950s. Before Curve Ball, I had written two nonfiction books about the the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League and two about the Detroit Tigers, the second a two-team history of the 1961 pennant race between the Tigers and the eventual champion New York Yankees.
